When you feel better, you eat better. Whether you’re grouchy, tired, sick, or just a bit run down, here are some easy mood boosters to help you stay on track during your weight-loss journey.

1. Feeling a bit low?
Stand up and take some deep breaths. Now look up, lift your arms, and stretch them towards the sky, spreading your fingers wide apart. Smile, even if you don’t feel like it—go on and show those teeth! After a couple of breaths, lower your arms and shake them out.

2. Being tired can make you feel down—this exercise will boost your energy.
Make a fist with one hand, and place it in the ‘V’ at the bottom of your ribs. Now place your other hand on top and gently pull in. As you do this, inhale deeply and slowly through your nose and exhale out through your mouth. Repeat for five breaths.

3. Have a cuddle.
Sometimes we are so busy that we can go days without having a proper hug. Take time for a cuddle, even if it’s with your dog! You will feel calmer and better able to handle the stresses of your day.

4. Soothe yourself.
If you’re feeling anxious, this acupressure technique will help to calm you down. Hold the ‘V’ of flesh between your thumb and first finger with the thumb and first finger of your other hand. Gently massage for a minute, and then repeat on your other hand. (Avoid this technique if you are pregnant.)

5. Worn out?
Are you feeling depleted, lethargic, or prone to colds? Boost your immune system with Thymus tapping. Using your fingertips gently tap your sternum while inhaling and exhaling deeply. Repeat for ten breaths.

Great ideas, ladies! A sun salutation is always great in the AM, and a warm bath is perfect before bed. :)
