Ladies, the verdict is in: Older women are officially declared sexy. Look around you… the role models of fabulous women over the age of 50 abound, particularly in the media: Diane Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Angela Bassett, to name just a few. And the “cougars” are getting a lot of attention these days as younger men vie for their attention. Will you age like these beauties, or will you spend your golden years reminiscing about how once upon a time you were young and vibrant? I’m sure you’ll opt for the former, so I’ll help you get there.
Getting older can definitely be sexy if you follow my advice. Here we go, starting with a little anatomy lesson about your reproductive system, one of the sources of your sexiness and femininity.
We’ve all heard the expression “Use it or lose it.” Leading up to and during menopause, one of the best things you can do for your body is to have plenty of sex. Women who are more sexually active experience less vaginal dryness because they have increased blood flow to the vagina. More blood flow means the tissues stay healthier and are less likely to atrophy.
You should also familiarize yourself with lubricants. If you’re uncomfortable shopping in “that” aisle in the grocery store, go online and order a few different types of vaginal lubricants and try them out to see which one you like the best. There are lots of options out there, and they will make a huge difference in your comfort when you’re having sexual intercourse. And as I said, the more you can have sex, the healthier your vaginal tissues will remain over time.
Women, you have a tendency to put yourself last on your list of priorities. You are caretakers by nature, and the people in your life appreciate all that you do for them, even if they don’t always say so. But those people also want you to be around for a very long time, and only you can take care of your health. Not that you need it, but I give you permission to put yourself first from this moment on. I want you to embrace getting older, not dread it. I want you to feel fabulous, because you, my dear, are a gift to be cherished!
